VET Virtual How To

  1.  Enter VET Virtual to open the Enter Rooms screen



  2. Are you an owner?
    This is for people who are currently registered
    A registered user has their own room
    A registered has access to upload files and manage rooms

  3. Are you a meeting participant?
    Registered users participating in a meeting or conference will need a password to access    other rooms

  4. Would you like a room of your own?
    Apply for your own room, agree to the conditions and you are on your way
    Application is automatic for users that have an approved education email

  5. Are you a student?
    If you are a student you can access through here without using a logon

  6. Are you a guest?
    If you have invited an unregistered user then they can access the rooms from here      without using a password





  7. EDIT room details
    A registered user can edit their room settings.
    These include;


    a.
    changing your name
    b. Opening and closing your room
    c. Selecting the room type
    i. Auditorium
    ii. Meeting
    iii. Training

  8. Select ENTER to go into a room
  9. The room type is displayed in the right of the room details



  10. Servers
    You must select a server to access the rooms
    As this is a trial project we are using different servers, applications and networks
    If you select a server and the green light does not appear in the top right of the screen, please refresh the browser and try a different server


    Meeting Room



  11. The green light shows that the room is connected and you are ok to continue

  12. Text Chat
    Type into the space beside the send button, then click on SEND to chat with the other  participants in the group

  13. Choose different emoticons to show how you feel and respond to questions or comments during a meeting
  14. If you have a camera and headset microphone you can click on Send Audio/Video to start using your camera and microphone




  15. The Menu Bar includes the following icons
    a.  Exit
    b.  Change rooms – choose a different room
    c.  Group files – Show a list of files available for everyone in the group
    d.  My files – provides a tool to upload new files into your resources and    add to the group files
    e.  Test microphone volume
    f.  Test camera
    g.  Whiteboard – a group whiteboard is available for everyone to use

  16. Bandwith settings
    You can choose what bandwidth you would like to consume while using the rooms
    If you find the audio or video missing frames or delayed too much, try a lower setting or     set a custom bandwidth

  17. Presenters must select Send Audio/Video to have access to the presenters tools

  19. Interact with participants in the group



  20. Main Menu
    a.  Exit
    b.  
    Change rooms – choose a different room
    c.  
    Group files – Show a list of files available for everyone in the group
    d. 
     My files – provides a tool to upload new files into your resources and add to the group files
    e.

     Test camera

  22. Delete a file
    This allows you to delete a file from you resources

  23. Upload a resource
    This allows you to upload a file to the server for your use or to share with the group

  24. Show Group
    If you select a file from the you can show the group the file you have selected

  25. Add to group resources
    This allows you to add a file for others to download whenever they want

  26. Preview
    Allows you to preview images or flash files


  27. Browse
    This allows you to select a file or group of files to upload to your resources
    (Hold Control to select individual files in a folder)

  28. Upload
    Files will be uploaded to the server
